I am a single mother of a beautiful little girl named Ashley. I am 31 years of age and I write; Poetry, editorials, articles on religion and children, and stories. I grew up with a sexually abusive father and a mother who wasn't around much because she had to work; so, most of my inspirations come from my broken childhood.

I have been a mother for ten years, working briefly for child support in 2000-2002, six months volunteer work with Arlington Housing Corporation 2003-2004, and the Council for Exceptional Children 2004-2006. A non profit organization that advocates for better education polices for the exceptionally diverse student population.  

In an effort to continually educate and better myself, I have enrolled here at Axia College to pursue a degree in business. I also have plans to start my own foundation (Our Children) www.freewebs.com/tammyknott , plug, and want to obtain my masters in Early Childhood education as well as a doctorate in Early Childhood Psychology. I would also like to be gainfully employed and since most employers require a degree of some sorts, this seemed the perfect solution to me. Although it has been over a decade since I last sat in an educational setting, I have been doing well and can’t wait to get my degree.
